Apply NowThe Assistant Director of Creative Video is responsible for the production of original creative video to engage the audience and increase visibility and brand awareness of Northwestern Athletics. This position conceptualizes and collaborates on all aspects of creative production, from shooting through post-production, for social media, in-venue video boards and television shows. This position will serve as the lead producer of storytelling content for Northwestern Athletics, while also assisting with coverage and promotion of all 19 Varsity sports programs.
*Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, often including evenings, weekends and some travel as required.*

Specific Responsibilities :
·      Create long-form storytelling content for Northwestern Athletic Programs.
·      Conceptualize, shoot and edit original creative video for Northwestern Assigned Varsity Athletics, including content for various social media platforms, and in-venue video boards.
·      Collaborate and assist with video production for all 19 Varsity sport programs.
·      Work with other units within external affairs department, including marketing and athletic communications, to plan and execute content that meets department goals and objectives.
·      Designs and creates motion and still graphics using Adobe Creative Suite or other related software to create a dynamic branded appearance for use in-venue, online and television video content.
·      Travel with Northwestern teams to select road contests; shoot and edit video of games and feature stories for television shows and department website.
·      Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.
·      Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
·      Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
·      Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to bachelor's degree in Video Production or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
·      Minimum of 2-4 years professional experience in creative video production, including lighting, shooting, editing and post-production work.
·      Minimum of 2-4 years professional experience with the design and creation of motion and still graphics.
·      Minimum of 2-4 years professional experience with video production software, including the Adobe Creative Suite or other related software.
·      Experience conducting sit-down interviews, including the use of professional lighting equipment.
·      Strong communication and organizational skills.
·      Ability to work efficiently on short deadlines, including balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
·      Understanding of video control rooms, with an emphasis on creating content that is suitable for video boards and in-venue displays.
·      Experience in a collegiate or professional athletics setting preferred.
·      Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred
·      Ability to work cooperatively with others and effectively interact with diverse populations.
·      Ability to establish engaging relationships within and across racialized and other marginalized communities

Target hiring range for this position will be between $55,130-$58,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
