The primary location of this position is the main Cullowhee, NC campus.
The Associate Athletics Director of Development leads fundraising activities for the University’s athletic support organization, the Catamount Club. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this role is pivotal in advancing the university’s athletic fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Leadership:
Lead fundraising initiatives for the Catamount Club, focusing on annual and major gift prospects and donors to support athletics.
Strategy Development:
Devise strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors.
Collaborative Partnership:
Participate as a collaborative member of the university’s overall fundraising efforts alongside University Advancement colleagues.
Team Management:
Lead and manage a professional staff within the Catamount Club to achieve annual fundraising objectives.
Additional Duties:
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
The Associate Athletics Director of Development will be an accomplished fundraising professional who understands the nature and purpose of higher education and who has:

Extensive Fundraising Experience
: A proven track record of success in fundraising or a related field is essential.

Strong Interpersonal Skills:
The ability to build strong relationships with donors at all levels is crucial.

Effectively managing multiple tasks and deadlines is a must.

Inspiring and guiding a team to achieve ambitious goals is key.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential for success.

Higher Education Understanding:
An appreciation for the mission and purpose of higher education is highly desirable.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required. Demonstrated successful experience in fund-raising is required. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate professional staff. Extensive travel and the flexibility to work nights and weekends are required.
Master’s degree is desirable. Understanding of business operations,
NCAA
rules, and other primary functions of collegiate athletics programs preferred. Background in intercollegiate athletics is a plus.
