The Division of Administration and Finance is ultimately responsible for all financial and administrative activities of East Carolina University and its affiliated Foundations. The departments within Administration and Finance include Campus Operations, Financial Services, Financial Planning and Analysis, Human Resources, Information Technology and Computing Services, Campus Safety and Auxiliary Services, Materials Management and Real Estate, ECU Health Financial Management and Reporting, and Administration and Finance Operations & Athletics Business Affairs. The Division is led by the Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance. The Vice Chancellor is responsible for oversight of the policies, personnel, budgets, and administrative activities of all operations at East Carolina University and its affiliated Foundations. This Division is a service provider in support of academic, research, and outreach missions of the University.
The Associate Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance Operations and Athletics Business Affairs reports to the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance and is responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative, management, and analytical duties on the Vice Chancellor’s behalf by providing direction to the Vice Chancellor’s staff and consultative advice to various administrators and staff throughout the division. This position will serve as a key member of the Vice Chancellor’s Executive Team. The primary purpose of the position is to work with the Vice Chancellor, division administrators, and other university officials to plan, coordinate, oversee, and/or execute various activities, projects, and initiatives for the Division and the University. The position is responsible for assessing needs, developing operational plans, and determining procedures and policies for all aspects of Administration and Finance. This position consults with the Vice Chancellor’s direct reports on issues that arise in the various units that need to be tracked and ensure appropriate resolution is communicated to all parties involved. Position duties include division strategic planning, tuition and fee process and submissions, independently managing university-wide initiatives, and shepherding large scope projects from beginning to end, and assists the Vice Chancellor in building internal and external relationships. Additional responsibilities include preparing comprehensive reports, proposals, and presentations. Position will represent the Vice Chancellor in strategic initiatives and is responsible for developing and executing annual risk assessment of campus and leading the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Committee to identify university wide risk issues. This position works with senior Athletics Administration on financial planning for athletics and has oversight of the Athletics Business Office with responsibility for all accounting, financial, and personnel activities for Athletics.
Master’s degree in business, finance or management with a minimum of seven years of experience in a financial management leadership role.

Independent experience in areas related to administration and finance activities. Experience in performing these functions in a public university or federal or state agency, or municipality is strongly preferred. Strong communication and collaborations skills.
