Department of Athletics - Sports Medicine
Responsible for assisting the Director of Sports Medicine in the formulation and implementation of policies, procedures, and emergency action plans to assure the maximum care and safety is provided to the student-athletes of Florida State University through all annual phases of training, conditioning, and competition, following the guidelines of established best practices. Attendance of football practices, conditioning session, and competitions both home and away.
Perform acute and chronic injury evaluation and assessment. Administer treatment of injuries and illnesses. Develop preventive, corrective, and rehabilitative exercise programs to assist the student-athlete in all phases of injury management. Coordinate outside referral for diagnostic imaging, consultations, and surgeries as needed.
Develop and maintain working relationships and partnerships with athletic department administration, coaching staff, and outside medical providers. Assist the football coaching staff with daily update of athlete medical status and availability. Communicate medical issues and team schedules to team physicians. Oversight of athletic training students, graduate assistant athletic trainers, athletic training interns, and assistant athletic trainers for football.
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the sports medicine budget. Ensure that all outside medical referrals are properly supplied with correct athlete insurance and documentation to ensure that claims are correctly sent to the departments insurance coordinator.

Ensure the proper documentation of all sports medicine encounters and keeping of medical records. Point person for consultation with NFL scouts as requested and uploading of requested medical data to the NFL.
