The Intercollegiate Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for a Coordinator of Women’s Basketball to join their team.
POSITION PURPOSE
Manage day-to-day operations of the University of Washington basketball program, including providing direct expertise to coaches, support staff, and additional department staff members. Plays an essential role in identifying program operational needs and must communicate directly and regularly with all program staff, as well as student-athletes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
• Coordinate all multi-media needs for the team. Exercise independent judgment and decision making, as well as projecting and approving budgetary needs for team operations such as filming practices and games, managing cataloging and storage of multi-media assets, as well as coordinating the digitizing, editing and organizing of video footage using computerized editing system for video scouting, breakdowns and presentations. Assess equipment and system needs for multi-media operations for the team, including budget projections, requests, and approvals for purchases and system renewals. 40%
• Provide video support for home games and duplications of video for distribution and uploading to systems. Responsible for video exchange. Acquire and catalog opponent’s game videos from broadcast TV, cable or satellite. Provide assessments and critical evaluation support of video for coaching staff and student-athletes. 15%
• Assist with budget needs for multi-media equipment, software, and external services. Including projecting annual budget needs and approving expenditures. 15%
• Manage schedules, practice preparations, game day preparations, work with opponents and other administrative duties as assigned. 10%
• Coordinate staff and student-athlete needs from other athletic department units such as information technology, marketing, and facilities. Communicate budget impacts resulting from these needs and requests. 10%
• Manage on campus recruiting visits and developing and distributing recruiting materials in collaboration with the Director of Operations and coaching staff. 10%
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent and two years of related experience in college basketball either playing, working, or a combination of both, OR equivalent education/experience
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
• Ability to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel with the team.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Basketball related knowledge, game day experience, further multi-media experience and additional higher education desirable.
