Job Description
The Director of Finance serves as a member of the Schottenstein Center and Business Advancement Accounting teams and oversees all financial operations in support of the Schottenstein Center. Plans, directs, and supervises accountants for the Schottenstein Center. Performs and accounts for Events Settlements (including night of show settlements) and related accounting for Schott special events. Oversees revenue and expense operations including deposits, recording income, balancing/auditing receipts and all budget expenditures. Prepare, review and/or update monthly standard and general journal entries, transfers, monthly financial reports, and reconciliations. Monitors and reconciles department balance sheets, account balances and general ledger accounts. Creates monthly and yearly statement of cash flows, balance sheet, statement of revenues and expenses and footnote disclosures. Lead annual Schottenstein Center budget process and the preparation of the unit's annual revenue, expense, and capital project budget. Coordinate documentation, testing and remediation of the university's internal controls over financial reporting. Performs Cost Center Manager Approvals in Workday. The Director of Finance will also oversee all financial operations in support of the MOU between Business Advancement and Wexner Center for the Arts as it relates to live entertainment and programming of the Mershon Auditorium. Oversees financial reporting of all special event revenues and expenses and oversight of a Capital Improvement Reserve for Mershon Auditorium. Create, plan, and oversee annual budget planning and projections, financial results reporting to Senior Leadership, annual net income distributions as outlined in the MOU, Maintain all balance sheet accounts to include receivables and payables. Acts as Cost Center Manager for newly formed cost centers related to MOU.Will performs night of show settlement responsibilities on an as needed basis. Maintain close communications and working relationships with Promoters, Mershon General Manager and event staff, and the Head of Finance for the Wexner Center for the Arts. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree may be desirable. 5 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of accounting principles and applications; CPA; 1-3 years business management experience including supervisory experience; experience with organizational budgets, accounting systems, reporting and analysis; good oral and written communication skills; experience in a professional sports environment; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and the Web; working knowledge of Workday, Tableau and Adaptive Planning accounting software.

The pay range for this position is $94,400 - $124,200 (min - mid). The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's education and experience.
