Responsible for the management and administration of all phases of a sports program in a manner that upholds the philosophy, mission, and objectives of the Department of Athletics. Develop, coordinate, and direct all phases of the track program as it pertains to personnel and their responsibilities, budgeting, scheduling, travel, meals, scholarship allocation, recruiting, scouting, purchase and care of equipment, coaching, giving appropriate direction to student-athletes as it relates to academics, while adhering to all ACC, NCAA, Athletics Department, and University rules and regulations. Promote track through community events and public relations activities.
Work with the Director of Athletics in conveying policy or its interpretation. In keeping with the University policy for equal opportunity and pluralism, the coach will provide a climate and culture that brings together and promotes through education, all individuals without regard to their background, race, origin, gender, culture, religion, beliefs, or physical or mental abilities.
Establish policies and guidelines for all track personnel and student-athletes, design academic guidelines for student athletes within the framework of NCAA, ACC, Athletics Department, and University rules and regulations.
Determine the scope and purpose of the track program. Hire competent assistants and support staff and assign responsibilities. Establish recruiting policies and direct all personnel involvement. Establish academic, athletic and community service policies for student-athletes. Maintain current skills and techniques in coaching, recruiting, training and general management of an intercollegiate sport program while adhering to Athletics Department, University, ACC, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Provides leadership and instruction in a student-athletes personal and athletic development to include counseling in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters, when appropriate. Supervises assistant coaches and support staff to include paid, volunteer, undergraduate and graduate assistants to ensure their compliance with applicable Athletic Department, University, ACC, NCAA rules, policies, and procedures. Provides training and guidance as appropriate.

Internal business contact for this position includes frequent contact with sports information, marketing, Seminole Boosters, game operations, academics, sports medicine, equipment, strength and conditioning, student services, and compliance staffs. Public contact for this position includes public speaking and appearances to various booster groups, alumni, university and community members, media, and recruits and their family.Develop budget and maintain accurate records of expenditures. Oversees the selection, purchase, fitting and maintenance of team equipment. uniforms, athletic equipment, and supplies.
Position is privy to confidential data, i.e., student records. Maintain confidentiality of all practice/game plans, staff meetings, appropriate recruiting activities, student academic data and any other data the disclosure of which may adversely affect the program.
Master's degree and one year of coaching experience at the high school level or above or a Bachelor's degree and three years experience at the high school level or above.
Knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations.
Experience coaching Track and Field/Cross Country.
