Duties and Responsibilities:

  • *Under administrative direction, the Head Coach is responsible for planning, administering, and evaluating the overall operations of the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Program to include, but not limited to, academic achievement of student-athletes, on deck coaching, recruitment of qualified prospects, supervision of assistant coaches and other staff assigned to the program, compliance, program management (eligibility, scheduling, travel, budget, equipment), and student-athlete well-being. The Head Coach assumes full responsibility for ensuring that team performance is competitive in the affiliated conferences with the goal of achieving post-season competition. Reports to the Director of Athletics or designee.
  • *Promotes the institutional position on intercollegiate issues as determined under administrative policy and procedures adopted by the University, Conference or the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
  • *Organizes, conducts, directs, and evaluates practices and intercollegiate competitions. Teach necessary skills from the basic fundamentals to the techniques and strategies of individual performance. Direct the conditioning and training of student-athletes to insure proper preparation for intercollegiate athletic competition.
  • *Provides leadership and oversight for the academic progress and eligibility status of student-athletes including promoting and maintaining an environment that encourages academic achievement as measured by academic eligibility, retention and graduation.
