University’s Health Services(UHS) at Florida State University (FSU) envisions a healthy community where every student thrives. Coburn Health and Wellness Center, a 170,000 square-foot multipurpose facility built in 2012. Perform diagnostic exams and examinations for specific complaints for the identification and evaluation of illnesses and injuries. Initiate medically sound treatment options, diagnostic laboratory tests, x-rays, and other procedures as indicated. Review and discuss with patient the results of laboratory, x-ray and other procedures. Provide medically indicated referrals to other specialists/consultants when necessary.
Perform medically indicated minor surgical and non-invasive diagnostic procedures.
Document the patient history, physical and emotional state, diagnostic findings and treatment in the patient's Electronic Medical Record.
Serve as consultant to nursing staff and other medical providers, as well as physical therapists. May serve as preceptor to students on clinical rotations. May serve as supervising physician for campus athletic trainers.

Attends and participates in University Health Services professional and administrative committees, conducts case presentations, special projects, and other related assignments as assigned. Actively participates with other medical staff in implementing approved policies and procedures emanating from these committees.
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and 4 years of experience. Licensed to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes plus four years of experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.

Drug Enforcement Administrative License
Ability to assess patient condition independently or in consultation. Provide appropriate treatment or referral for treatment.
Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
Knowledge of prescription drugs and other medications and the standard concepts, practices and procedures related to pharmaceuticals.
Ability to differentiate emergency from non-emergency situations.
Knowledge of and ability to safely perform medical examinations and/or tests on patients including but not limited to X-Rays, EKGs and radiological exams.
Position requires pre-employment PPD (TB) and successful completion of post hire OSHA training.
