To plan, implement, administer, and supervise the strength and conditioning program for assigned Gonzaga University varsity athletic teams.
The budgeted annual salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position is $55,000 annually.
The internal full salary range is $54,465 – $73,688.

Essential Functions

| Function Details |
- Serve as the primary strength and conditioning coach for assigned sports that are subject to change on a yearly basis.
- Develop, implement, and supervise approved comprehensive strength and conditioning programs to optimize student-athlete performance.
- Work closely with the coaching staff to understand performance goals and expectations of their student-athletes.
- Work closely with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Health and Performance Trainer to ensure strength and conditioning programs align with treatment plans for injured student-athletes.
- Provide individual, small group and team instruction related to strength and conditioning activities.
- Works in coordination with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Health and Performance to identify facility and program needs and initiate and develop plans and projects to meet those needs.
- Assists with student-athlete nutrition education and monitoring as directed by the Assistant Director of Athletics for Health and Performance and third-party vendor.
- Ensures adequate maintenance and appearance of all areas under supervision and ensures equipment is maintained at all times.
- Ensures all operations are conducted with safety as the first priority, in accordance to the University’s safety policies and procedures.
- Supervise open weight room times during normal business hours when there are no team trainings scheduled.

- Annually participate in Title IX training.

- Strong communication skills to effectively work with a diverse work force and student-athlete population.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to motivate student athletes.

| Physical / Environmental Qualifications |
- The strength and conditioning functions (80%) involve time standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting (max. of 50lbs) walking, carrying, traveling and other movements.
- Administrative portion is in a stationary position 20% of the time.
- Ability to prep for and attend meetings and events across campus in various weather conditions.
- Wrist and hand movement related to computer work.
