The Assistant Coach, Women’s Basketball is the primary contact for all elements of a student athlete’s academic, social, athletic, and emotional welfare. This position reports directly to the Head Coach providing daily updates on the progress of the student-athletes daily life. This position manages the video department for Women’s Basketball and coordinates all of the NCAA Compliance work for the program. This position coordinates team managers, practice players, practice/game set up, and monitors facility upkeep. This position will oversee the women’s basketball mentor program along with organizing community service projects.
The Assistant Coach will serve as the liaison for the women’s basketball program and the departmental marketing department. This position will communicate with the student-athletes on academic issues and update coaching and academic staff on pertinent information. This position also ensures that collaborative and constructive relationships are maintained with university partners, with respect to academic and compliance, student support, financial aid, facilities, and game day operations to insure optimal outcomes for student-athletes.
NCAA Related:
Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualification:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Two years of relevant experience
OR
• High School Diploma/Equivalent
• Eight years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualification:
• Basketball coaching or playing experience.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division I Guidelines.
