Responsibilities
:
Goalkeeper Coach and Player development:
Assist the Head Coach in the overall development and implementation of the Soccer program with an emphasis on developing a strategic plan for training and developing goalkeepers.
Recruitment and Scouting
: Collaborate with the Head Coach to identify and recruit top talent, both locally and nationally who fit the culture and model the standards expected within the soccer program. Attend high school and club games and showcases to evaluate prospective student-athletes.
Game-Day Preparation
: Coordinate scouting reports, contribute to game-day strategies, including lineup decisions, in-game adjustments, and player management. Assist with game plan development and player readiness. Assist with management of all game day activities, such as statistics, film, and field organization.
Eligibility and Academic Support
: Organize eligibility compliance. Provide guidance and support to student-athletes in balancing their academic commitments with athletic responsibilities. Encourage academic success and monitor progress to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
Camp Coordination
: Coordinate and assist in organizing and developing soccer camps and clinics for youth and prospective athletes, overseeing logistics, participant registration, and program execution.
Leadership and Role Modeling
: Serve as a positive role model, fostering a culture of discipline and teamwork among the athletes. Instill values of respect, servant leadership, selflessness, excellence, and energy both on and off the field. Organize community service and team building activities.
Operations
: Assist with fundraising efforts, team travel organization, field maintenance, and equipment management.
Analysis
: Review both game film, and practice film for the team as well as for prospective recruits and prepare written analysis for the Head Coach.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
A minimum of 1-3 years of previous soccer coaching experience.
Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules.
Knowledge of the evaluation and assessment of student-athlete skills and abilities.
Knowledgeable in film evaluation techniques and software as well as editing.
Ability to identify and successfully recruit talented prospective student-athletes for the sport of soccer.
Ability to motivate and empower team members.
Initiative to solve problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication and people skills to effectively connect with student-athletes, coaching staff, and university stakeholders.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Commitment to the academic success and personal development of student-athletes.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required by the position.
Ability to obtain a
CDL
driver’s license for driving of team personnel.
Preference will be given to candidates with college goalkeeper coach experience,
USC
,
USSF
, or
UEFA
Goalkeeper certification, collegiate playing experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
