Job Purpose

This position assists the Head Coach in development and administration of the assigned

NCAA

Division I sport program. Including, but not limited to, coaching, mentoring, program development, recruiting, public relations, community involvement and administrative duties as assigned in compliance with all university, conference and

regulations.

The budgeted annual salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position is $54,465 annually. The internal full salary range is $54,465 – $73,688.

Assists in providing coaching and administrative duties to support the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis program including:

• Assists in coordinating day to day practice on the court and practice preparation and instruct student-athletes on these systems and concepts as well as rules and fundamentals of the game in order to develop the player and achieve personal and team goals
• Evaluate student-athletes to identify strengths and deficiencies, and design instructional opportunities to teach student-athletes how to improve technical and strategic execution
• Provide individual skill instruction, supervision, and motivation to student-athletes
• Assists in preparing and coordinating annual, seasonal, monthly, weekly, and day to day practice planning and design
• Assist in conducting conditioning programs, in coordination with strength and conditioning staff, encompassing recognized and approved methods of improving power, speed, strength and aerobic performance, consistent with industry safety and health standards.
• Assist with all practice sessions while incorporating basic sport strategies, as is deemed appropriate
• Incorporate position/event specific learning opportunities into daily practice design as directed by head coach including instruction on techniques
• Foster an environment which develops the whole person
• Assist in maintaining a close working relationship with the athletic trainer and strength & conditioning staff in regards to athletic injury, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention. |
