Responsible for assisting in the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures to assure maximum care and safety in the physical conditioning of student-athletes participating in activities and sports sponsored by Florida State University Intercollegiate Athletics; has specific, direct involvement with Football
Coordinate a preventative conditioning program for student-athletes within assigned sport and develop rehabilitative and conditioning therapy for injured athletes. Perform injury assessment/evaluation, administer treatment, and/or provide medical referrals. Assist in planning and monitoring dietary needs of athletes. Assist in supervision of student trainers working with athletes and supervise athletic training coverage for home and away athletic events. Assist with Football summer camps.
Maintain working relationships with administration, coaching staff, medical professionals within and outside the University, and act as liaison to local area high schools with regard to their athletic training needs and programs.
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the Sports Medicine budget within the Athletic Department for assigned sport.
Responsible for safeguarding confidential medical and personal information concerning student-athletes and athletic training students.
Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience. Must possess or be able to obtain the National Athletic Trainers' Association certification, CPR - Red Cross, and AED certifications.
