Are you passionate about sports and digital media? Dakota State University is on the lookout for an Athletics Multimedia Coordinator to elevate our athletic teams’ presence on social media and the web.
About the Role
As the Athletics Multimedia Coordinator, you will collaborate with our Sports Information Director, Digital Marketing Specialist, and others to create dynamic content for video boards, game programs, athletics websites, and more. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer in our Marketing and Communications department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the digital identity of our athletics programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management
: Develop and oversee the strategy and content for the athletics department and team social media accounts.
Graphic Design
: Create and coordinate graphic design elements to promote our athletics teams.
Multimedia Content
: Capture photos and videos of athletics events and produce regular video content for online and social media platforms.
Content Calendar
: Implement and maintain a social media content calendar.
Game Coverage
: Provide comprehensive pre-, in-, and post-game social media coverage.
News Distribution
: Coordinate with the Sports Information Director to share athletics news releases on social media.
Website Management
: Assist in content development and maintenance of department and team websites.
Event Marketing
: Develop and execute marketing plans for fundraisers and events like AgBowl, Wild Game Feed, and AgBall.
Stakeholder Collaboration
: Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop content for video boards in athletics venues.
Game Programs
: Manage all aspects of producing athletics’ game programs, including design, editing, ordering, printing, and distribution.
What We’re Looking For:
Abilities
:
Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
Ability to manage time and meet deadlines under pressure.
Effective multitasking and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge
:
Proficient in creating content across various mediums (print, web, social, video).
Understanding of athletic sports programs.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Windows-based editing systems.
Knowledge of photography and videography equipment.
Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing software.
Competence in internet and website maintenance.
Solid grasp of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Insight into media and journalistic practices and procedures.
Awareness of printing and distribution processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Previous experience working with sports information.

08/02/2024 Yes CSA Pay Grade GH: Starting at $22.69/hour 12 months 100% 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, with additional weekend and evening hours required to cover Athletics events.
