The Contract Professional will play a pivotal role in managing and negotiating contracts within the Arizona Athletics Department. This position is essential in ensuring all contractual agreements align with the department's strategic goals and comply with legal and regulatory requirements, particularly in light of recent legal decisions and evolving revenue-sharing models with student-athletes. The Contract Professional will collaborate closely with coaches, vendors, university officials, and student-athletes to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
This position requires the ability work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel as needed.

Contract Management:
Oversee the development, negotiation, and execution of all contracts related to student-athletes.
Risk Assessment:
Evaluate potential risks associated with contracts and propose mitigating strategies, ensuring compliance with recent legal rulings such as the House and Oliver cases.
Revenue Sharing Compliance:
Ensure contracts reflect current revenue-sharing models with student-athletes and comply with applicable laws and NCAA regulations.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with coaches, administrators, student-athletes, and external parties to understand their needs and provide effective contract solutions.
Documentation
: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contract negotiations and final agreements.
Policy Development:
Develop and implement policies and procedures related to contract management within the athletics department, considering recent legal precedents.
Training:
Provide training and guidance to department staff on contract-related matters, best practices, and the implications of recent legal decisions.
Financial Oversight:
Work with the finance department to ensure contracts are financially viable and align with budgetary constraints.
Dispute Resolution:
Work with our Office of General Counsel to address and resolve any contract-related disputes in a timely and effective manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of legal terminology and principles related to contracts.
Knowledge of handling contracts affected by recent legal decisions such as the House and Oliver cases.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of NCAA regulations and compliance issues, particularly related to revenue sharing with student-athletes.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Sports Management, or a related field.
Sevenyears of experience in compliance or contract negotiation.
Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Business Administration (MBA.).
Experience in a collegiate athletics setting.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
