The financial analyst will analyze and prepare recommendations for short term financial planning and forecasting. Conducts ad hoc budget analysis for the Athletic Department to ensure proper accounting is completed for accurate financial reporting. This individual will monitor the athletic departments actual performance against budget and financial targets. The individual will assist in the completion of all financial reports for the Athletics Department.
This position requires the ability work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel as needed.

Provides administrative and analytical support to an assigned department or program area within the Athletics Department.
Conducts research, data analysis, and forms recommendations for operational and administrative programs, business systems, polices, and procedures.
Performs and manages data collection, compilation, coordination, organization and data security.
Prepares comprehensive technical, statistical and analytical reports, records and recommendations.
Reviews various reports, problem solves errors in reports, and provides application support to end users for business systems and related applications; may prepare and disseminate sensitive information.
Conducts data evaluation, data analysis, and database development and maintenance.
Determines, defines and documents current and proposed business process and end user documentation for programs and projects; develops and test plans.
Develops documentation and provides end user training on an on-going basis in support of business processes, financial management system features, related applications, and workflows. Applies accounting and auditing principles and techniques to ensure that data integrity, internal controls, and audit trails are maintained throughout all applications.
Works with internal customers and stakeholders to conduct and facilitate business process analysis and identify areas of improvement; designs and amends business processes.
Based on analysis determines and suggests efficiency improvements in spending and allocation of resources.
Responds to and resolves inquiries and complaints; establishes and maintains positive working relationships with managers, staff, internal customers, vendors, and others during the course of work using principles of good customer service.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,), Adobe Suite programs and other relevant software required).
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Three years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience working in a college or university athletic department.
Experience in developing, managing and adhering to budgets.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
