Job Description
This position provides primary support to the procurement/travel functions of the Athletic Business Office (ABO); processes fiscal transactions including, but not limited to, reimbursements, travel payments, requisitions, purchase orders, vendor payments, and procurement cards; responsible for the initiation of procurement transactions as directed by the department's internal control structure, which includes ensuring segregation of duties in the processing of every transaction, appropriate mandatory approvals and appropriate mandatory reconciliation; ensures all University and Athletics policies are followed; ensures all supporting documentation conforms to University guidelines; performs trip planning and travel reconciliation; serves as point of contact for coaches, staff and students on procurement/travel procedures and policies; acts as purchasing card manager; works as a team member of the ABO to provide high level customer service and ensuring processing is timely, efficient, accurate and in university and NCAA compliance; verifies transactions are accurately posted to the general ledger; maintains travel and procurement transaction files according to University record retention requirements, serves as back up for other ABO team members in order to maintain workload coverage; leads and/or supports special projects and initiatives; accesses various systems to support report generation and to review transactions; assists in pulling documentation for audits and/or public records requests; other duties as assigned. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with University financial system, Workday; excellent customer service, problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work in a fast paced team environment serving a diverse population. After hour night and weekend work may be required.
