This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities
Head Coach, Pickleball
Establish and maintain a culture of faith, influence, relationships, and excellence.
Launch and develop the men’s and women’s intercollegiate pickleball programs, positioning ACU as a leader in the emerging collegiate pickleball landscape.
Build a strong national and regional recruiting network to attract high-character student-athletes who will represent ACU with excellence on and off the court.
Direct all aspects of day-to-day operations for both pickleball teams, including recruitment, training, practice, scheduling, travel, and competition management.
Build and maintain strong relationships with off-campus facilities and community partners to secure practice and competition venues.
Collaborate with the Athletics Department to support fundraising initiatives that advance the pickleball programs.
Ensure student-athletes meet academic and eligibility standards, while promoting personal growth, spiritual formation, and academic accountability.
Provide mentorship, prayer, and ongoing spiritual support to student-athletes.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.
The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.
Education and Experience** :**
Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred).
Playing or coaching experience and full understanding of the growing sport
Working Conditions** :**
General pickleball environment.
Office hours to accomplish administrative tasks.
Meeting with student athletes as needed.
Travel to competition and recruitment as needed.
Time Required** : **
Standard college pickleball calendar for in-season and out-of-season.
Year-round recruitment and communication expectations.
