Salary Range : Up to $40,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours : up to 40 hours per week, non-exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

Function: To assist the athletics department with various multimedia productions, primarily live game broadcasts, video board production and press conferences on ESPN+ in support of the athletics strategic mission.

Scope: Responsible for all aspects of media creation for the sports production unit, including but not limited to cameras, graphics, replay equipment, nonlinear editing, switchers, audio, video boards and radio. Serves as a key member of the sports production team, reporting directly to the Director of Sports Production.

Core Responsibilities

1. Serves as support for home game video board shows and live streaming broadcasts on ESPN+, in addition to press conferences on YouTube.
2. Operates a variety of equipment such as video cameras, broadcast cameras, audio equipment, lighting equipment and more.
3. Creates graphics; utilizing knowledge of computer-generated graphic programs.
4. Helps with the scheduling of talent and crew for ESPN+ streams and videoboard shows.
5. Edit productions, using various editing systems to cut bumpers, highlights and features for use in broadcasts and in-game videoboard shows.
6. Assist in organizing and storing production equipment, props, tripods and tapes.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Periodic:      

1. Attends conferences, meetings and workshops to keep up-to-date on related professional techniques. 

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, with training in the area of television or film.
• Two years of experience working in a video, broadcast or multimedia environment.
• One year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Independent decision-making and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple deadlines at one time.
• Tact, diplomacy, and discretion are required in all matters. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Journalism or related field.
• Three years of experience working in a video, broadcast or multimedia environment.
• Knowledge of live production equipment, including Ross, video streaming and Daktronics production software preferred.

Working Conditions

• Office environment.
• Usual office conditions along with regular work on nights and weekends.
• Occasional holiday work or travel may be required.

Physical Demands:

• Able to carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds per unit.

This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
