Target hiring range for this position will be between $120,000-$154,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Deputy Athletics Director/Administration and Policy/SWA, and indirectly to the University Senior Director of Compliance, the Senior Associate AD serves as a member of the department’s Leadership Cabinet and is responsible for oversight of all activities related to athletics compliance with the NCAA, Big Ten Conference, Northwestern University bylaws, rules, and regulations. Additionally, this position serves as the main liaison between NUDAR and the university’s Government Relations Office and the Office of General Counsel. In providing leadership to the Department and the University, this position shall create an atmosphere for commitment to compliance and institutional control with all coaches, staff, student-athletes, university personnel and boosters mitigating risk for the University and the Department.
The Athletics Compliance Office is a professional service responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all policies and procedures relative to a comprehensive and effective NCAA Division I compliance program; investigating and reporting violations; submitting required NCAA and Big Ten reports; managing sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion; and maintaining exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with administrators, coaches, support units, colleagues and other customers.

Specific Responsibilities :
· Collaborate with the Office of Government Relations, Office of General Counsel, and University Compliance to coordinate risk management and integrity initiatives, as well as implementation policies and procedures to facilitate compliance with federal, state, and institutional laws and regulations.
· Maintain administrative oversight of the Athletic Compliance Office and manage initiatives that promote institutional and departmental culture of integrity and compliance as it relates to intercollegiate athletics.
· In collaboration with External Affairs and other campus units, develop a strategy and facilitate the workings of Northwestern’s Name, Image & Likeness Program.
· Conduct and assure the timely investigation, resolution and self-reporting of NCAA and Big Ten rules violations, as they may occur.
· Work directly with the Deputy AD/Administration and Policy to serve as the secondary liaison with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Prepare prospects' academic records for review by the Associate VP of Student Outreach and Dean of Undergraduate Admissions.
· Serve as the department's liaison to the Big Ten and NCAA for matters dealing with NCAA Compliance. Attend and participate in NCAA and Big Ten rules education, monthly meetings and annual compliance conferences.
· Represent the department on a variety of campus committees as deemed appropriate.
· As Sport Administrator, provide leadership, advice, counsel, oversight and guidance for each assigned program. Serve as the initial point of contact for all issues related to their respective sports program and exercise proactive leadership to resolve concerns for coaches, student-athletes and/or support staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
· Five years' experience in a Division I athletics compliance office.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
· Professional verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to teach diverse groups of individuals about NCAA compliance issues.
· Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment and manage stressful situations.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and meet deadlines.
· Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master's degree or higher preferred.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
· Experience working with an FBS football program preferred.
· Experience with Compliance Assistant, and Teamworks preferred.
· Familiarity of the financial aid and admissions processes at a university level preferred.
· Knowledge of rules and regulations of the Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.
· Experience managing staff and coaches through clear communication and a cooperative attitude.
· Strong leadership skills.
