Departmental Overview
The Assistant AD, Broadcast and Network Operations position is responsible for leading the efforts in delivering a first-class television broadcast experience. This role is responsible for the creative direction of assigned sports telecasts, as well as on-site management and administration of those telecasts/productions. The position will lead a production team in conjunction with the ACC Network to plan and oversee the execution of those telecasts. Provides creative, personnel, and administrative direction for all aspects of the production of assigned telecasts. This role coordinates the full scope of producing activities of a full-time, temporary, and/or matrixed staff of professionals and or students accountable for program development and production. Directs all assigned technical and production personnel in all aspects of the productions. The successful individual will be a self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, problem solver that can orchestrate live event production. This position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Responsibilities
Oversees the hiring and development of ACC Network and Broadcast Operations.
Provides creative, personnel, and administrative direction for all aspects of the production of assigned telecasts.
For assigned sports/events, plans and coordinates the full scope of producing activities of a full-time, temporary, and/or matrixed staff of professionals and or students accountable for program development and production.
Serves as consultant to Executive Staff on broadcast and technology-related projects for Cal Athletics.
Oversees all technology decisions as they pertain to Athletics projects and facilities.
Oversees the vision and build of the production studio (equipment, staffing, etc.).
Manages budget for ACC Network and Broadcast Operations.
Directs all assigned technical and production personnel in all aspects of the productions.
Completes other duties as assigned, including professional development.
Required Qualifications
At least seven (7) years of experience in a broadcast television or media production environment.
Thorough knowledge of program activity and best practices.
Problem-solving, multi-tasking, working with frequent interruptions, and effective listening skills.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties.
Ability to multitask and produce results while adhering to multiple deadlines.
Knowledge of best practices and production trends.
Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships and strategic partnerships
Knowledge of the public media environment.
Knowledge of live broadcast programming concepts, principles, methodologies, and techniques.
High attention to detail and organization.
Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Working knowledge of digital audio and video standards and equipment.
Knowledge of broadcast video equipment and signal flow.
Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
Extensive knowledge of broadcast industry standards, university policies, and federal and state laws and regulations.
Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $150,000.00 - $180,000.00.
This is a 100%, full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits.
This position is exempt and paid monthly.
