s currently accepting applications for two
Sports Nutrition Interns
to join the Auburn Sports Nutrition team. One position will be with Auburn Football, and one position will be with Auburn Olympic Sports.
This opportunity will allow each intern to gain experience working in collegiate sports nutrition. Each Nutrition Intern will work daily in the Auburn Athletics facilities as a member of the Sports Nutrition staff. Hours will vary and will include a non-standard workweek.

provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
Assistance with special projects

Providing nutrition expertise to student athletes through team talks, consultations, and other educational strategies; assisting in teams’ planning and execution of every day practice fueling, game day/travel nutrition, and competition fueling strategies.
Assist in management of fueling stations including keeping inventory, managing, stocking, staffing, and creating educational materials.
Assist in development and improvement of nutrition education materials and resources.
Assist in player testing, tracking, & reporting (Body composition, hydration, meals, etc.)
Organize catering/vendor orders and set-up, as needed.
Participate as a positive, committed, and determined member of the sports nutrition team and Auburn University Athletics Department.
Work closely with coaching staffs, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, sport psychology, sport science, and other individuals from the Athletic Department.
Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field
Registered Dietician Eligible (
RDE
) – RD license required within 90 days of hire.
Expectations:
Background and strong interest in sports nutrition.
Must obtain RD license within 90 days of hiring to maintain eligible employment status.
Ability to work a non-standard workweek, including some weekends and holidays.
Strong communication (oral and written), organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office platforms; Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of sports nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, eating disorders/disordered eating.
Ability to work well with others and collaborate with team members in a positive and productive manner.
Ability to work independently, take initiative and complete work tasks with minimal direction.
Ability to be punctual, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
